A Continental, rich and flavorful crusty rub used either as dry or paste for roasting and grilling.
Mustard-horseradish, basil, rosemary, thyme, parsley, marjoram, lavender, chervil, garlic, black pepper. 3.5 oz.

Coastal Fish Rub:
A classic basil, marjoram, rub with a hint of lemon and a burst of green peppercorns. Don't stop with fish. Try it on poultry, vegetables, especially tomato, and pasta.

Saged Turkey Rub:

Using Rubs:

Note: Dry and paste rubs are often mixed with sugar or molasses which makes a glaze or crust when grilled. Use wine or vinegar in marinades to help tenderize meat.
  • Dry Rubs - Dry seasoning is rubbed into meat surface, then grilled either immediately or later.
  • Paste Rubs - Works like a dry marinade. Seasoning is mixed with ingredients to create a paste, then applied to meat and left to absorb flavor. This creates a kind of crust when grilled.
  • Marinades - Seasonings are mixed in a liquid, often oil and wine, in which meat is placed to absorb flavors.
  • Shake Ons - Common method, seasonings are sprinkled on surface either before or during cooking.
    In Cooked Dishes - Seasonings are incorporated into the food before cooking to evenly disperse flavors.
  • Dressings & Dips - Dried or fresh seasoning is mixed into a dip or dressing base such as oils, sour cream, or yogurt. Usually improved with some aging.
