This
gourmet selection with bits of fruit, brews
a flavorful and aromatic cup of cider or hot mulled wine.
Brew up a gallon and keep it in the frig, ready to be served hot or cold.
Apple pieces, Cinnamon, allspice, orange peel, star anise, nutmeg, ginger,
hibiscus, orange oil. 3 oz. cello.

USING MULLING SPICES
Hot
Spiced Cider
Half-Gallon Apple Cider (for a milder cider,
use one gallon)
One-Ounce Mulling Spices
Combine
cider and Mulling Spices. Heat to just below boiling point. Reduce heat,
cover pot and simmer for 30 minutes. Add one ounce brandy or run, if desired.
(Cranberry juice or fruit nectar may be substituted for the apple cider.)
Hot
Mulled Wine
Half-Gallon Port Wine
(Or wine of your choice, I like Gamay or Zin)
One-Ounce Mulling Spices
One cup fresh squeezed Orange Juice
Quarter-cup Brown Sugar
Combine
all ingredients and heat to just below boiling point. Reduce heat, cover
pot and simmer for 30 minutes. If desired, strain spices before serving,
or use muslin spice bag.
