Pau d'Arco Tea
Pau d'Arco is an evergreen tree, native to the rain forests and mountains of South American countries. For centuries, natives have used the ground inner-bark for teas. It is believed they used it both internally and externally for its healing properties of fevers, infections, colds, and respiratory, and arthritic problems and perhaps for more severe problems. As an herbal remedy today, some considered it to be a natural antibiotic and antioxidant. The American FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) tested Pau d'Arco for toxicity in 1981 and passed it.
For
those of us that just like a good cup of herbal tea, it is a very fragrant
tea with a velvety taste hinting of ginger, mint and jasmine with earthy,
almost mushroom undercurrents. A real herb tea taste treat.
